The Challenge
Carmarthenshire County Council required a solution that would:

- support hybrid collaboration between staff, clinicians and partners
- maximise the value of existing technology while meeting sustainability goals
The challenge was not just installing technology but ensuring it worked effectively across the entire building.
The Approach
Comcen AV worked in partnership with the Council during the construction and fit-out of the facility. This included:
- detailed site surveys to plan screen locations, infrastructure and connectivity
- integration of existing displays with new installations
- design of a centralised digital signage and collaboration environment
The focus: create a consistent, easy-to-manage communication platform across all spaces.
The Solution
Digital signage and hybrid collaboration were delivered across key areas of the building.
Digital Signage Across the Facility
Screens were installed in high-traffic and operational areas, including:
- gym and leisure spaces
- café and retail environments
- pool viewing areas
- offices and staff locations
All content is managed centrally through the Signagelive platform, enabling:
- real-time updates
- consistent messaging across multiple locations
- improved communication with visitors
- Hybrid Collaboration with Microsoft Teams Rooms
A dedicated Microsoft Teams Rooms environment was introduced to support professional hybrid meetings.
This enables:
- quick and reliable meeting start times
- consistent experience for all users
- seamless collaboration across locations
The space also supports community use, external bookings and additional revenue opportunities.
Sustainable Technology Approach
Sustainability was a key consideration throughout the project. Existing displays from Llanelli Leisure Centre were relocated, recommissioned and integrated into the new environment. This approach reduced cost, minimised waste and supported the Council’s sustainability objectives.

Pentre Awel now benefits from a connected communication and collaboration environment that:
