A video wall is an impressive addition to the reception area of a digital school. It gives an immediate “wow factor” that captures the attention of visitors, staff, and students. The large, high-resolution displays create an engaging and dynamic environment that makes a lasting impression. The video wall can be used to showcase the school’s achievements, share upcoming events and news, display educational content, or even feature student artwork. Its interactive capabilities can also help to create an immersive experience that involves the audience and encourages participation. The video wall is a modern and innovative solution that enhances the look and feel of the school’s reception, making it a welcoming and inspiring space for all who enter.

“The Ebbw Fawr Learning Community Video Wall is a large display made up of multiple smaller screens that are combined to create a single, seamless image. The purpose of the video wall in this context is to provide a platform for displaying information and news to pupils and parents in a way that ensures that it will not be missed. This could include important announcements, upcoming events, or other information that is relevant to the school community. By using a video wall, the school can ensure that this information is visible and easily accessible to everyone who needs to see it, which can help to keep everyone informed and engaged with the school’s activities.”

Dave sourced affordable technology that doesn’t compromise on quality.

The display is a way to celebrate the learning and development of the community. By showing awards and pupil work on the learnign community video wall, it allows the children and their families to see and appreciate the accomplishments and hard work of their peers and themselves. This can serve as a source of inspiration, motivation and a sense of pride for the children as they see their work being recognised and celebrated by the community.

“In 2012, Comcen was awarded the tender to provide all IT equipment for Ebbw Fawr Learning Community. We have had the pleasure of working with Comcen’s Account Manager, Dave, for several years, during which he has consistently provided expert guidance and support in identifying the necessary specifications for IT, AV and Print. Our partnership has been built on a foundation of trust and mutual respect, and we are proud to have had the opportunity to work with Comcen.”

– Dafydd Short, IT Network Manager, Ebbw Fawr Learning Community

Comcen’s reputation in the AV industry is well-established, and the company has gained recognition for its outstanding customer satisfaction and successful delivery of frameworks and tenders, including National Procurement Services Wales. The Account Managers are highly adaptable and prioritise our deadlines and budget when developing a solution that meets our needs.

We have been thoroughly satisfied with the services provided by Comcen thus far and would highly recommend them to others in need of IT and AV solutions.”

It also helps to foster a sense of community and belonging among the students, as they can see the work of their classmates and feel connected to the school’s mission and values. Additionally, it allows parents and visitors to see the achievements of the students, which can help to build positive relationships between the school and the community. In summary, showcasing the information on the display will help the children celebrate their work and achievements, foster a sense of community and belonging, and build positive relationships between the school and the community.

“After careful consideration, we decided to proceed with LG as our vendor for the video wall project, as their thin bezel seamless display options offered the optimal visual outcome and were also competitively priced. To ensure proper installation, we sourced the most suitable brackets for the project. Ebbw Fawr Learning Community had emphasised the importance of timely completion for the project, so my colleague, Martin, and I conducted a site survey to assess the feasibility of various options. We subsequently developed a plan and arranged for delivery and installation to be completed during the summer holidays of 2022, over a period of two days, to minimise disruption and accommodate the schedule of Ebbw Fawr Learning Community. Initially, the placement of the video wall had been proposed in portrait orientation, but after discussing content delivery with the stakeholders, we mutually agreed that a landscape orientation would better utilise the available space.”
